I am looking ahead past the new year to begin the process of beginning the next writing session, creating the plot line, warming up the fingers, and so on, but have a question with what everyone would like to see. I am contemplating a companion novel to the series depicting Jack’s early years focusing primarily around his military career. I am thinking this would be the ideal time to introduce that or would you prefer to have the next book out be a continuation of the series. Feel free to post on FB or on the web site if you have an opinion. I mean on the next book 🙂
I have several interesting ideas on some of the story line. My son and I have been up late the last couple of nights hashing over various plot lines – some good laughs were had in several of them. One of the larger plot lines that was running through this vacuum between my ears took a missile on the wing and went down in a flaming wreck – or so he thinks. Bwahaha. The phoenix may raise its head again. On the whole, I think it should be an interesting series of events and such coming up. Of course, once I begin typing on the story, it takes a mind of its own and so I’ll be interested as well to see what happens.
I wish everyone a Happy New Year! Please, stay safe, make the right choices, and I’ll see you in 2012!

Hi everyone, I am a reader from Spain y I have really enjoyed the series so far. I tend to agree with your readers about not stoping the storyline as it is, your post ap world is well constructed and logical and I want more of it !!
A couple of ideas about entering dark buildings, what about smoking o using tear gas before entering? If night runners breath they would have to exit o die. I also like the idea of UVA lights, they would solve the problem. I don’t like the idea of burning buildings, what a waste !!

Hi Luis,
Thank you very much for dropping by to say hi. I am really glad you are liking the books so far. I like the idea of smoking or gassing the night runners out. In some of the larger buildings that the group has entered, it would take a tremendous amount of either to clear it. Great idea nonetheless. Thank you again for you kind words and I hope you have a great day! Feel free to drop in and say hi anytime!

john i found your books on amazon and read all three in 4 days. having grown up around the Air Force i really got into the book fast. I hope to see u continue with the story line because you are building a unique post Apocalypse world. have you given any thought to those who may have been at sea when the virus took hold such as the navy and cruise liners?
Hi Michale,
Thanks for dropping by and I’m so glad you enjoyed the books. I truly appreciate the nice words and message. I have given some of those some thought but think they would be mostly overrun as the vaccine would have been administered on navy ships. The cruise liners may be an interesting idea if they departed before the vaccine but think they would have either required it before boarding because of the pandemic or cancelled the cruises because of it. Interesting thought though you’ve made me think about a few possibilities with that – thanks. I hope you are having a great week and your day is a pleasant one for you! Also, if you wouldn’t mind dropping by Amazon and leaving a review for each one, I would greatly appreciate it. Again, I’m overjoyed you enjoyed the series so far and wish you a year filled with fortune and joy!

We need Jack to seriously consider the use UV lights, and I have a good idea of the kids being kidnapped so they can join their mother who might be the answer for a cure..but of course I don’t know…What about smashing all windows before entering a building? C4 the roofs b to allow light in, locking the buildings to kill the Night runners of starvation while maintaining the physical structure?..Sorry, I am in survival mode, read the three books in a row I need more!..you should do a few short stories, about Jack, Gonzalez, who were they before this shit hit the fan. I will read it.
Hi Frank,
Yes, UV lighting would definitely help. Most of the UV lights around toady don’t have much of a range but perhaps they will come into play. And no need to apologize in the least. I enjoy additional thoughts and ideas. I’m really glad that you are enjoying the series to date. Funny you should mention books about the characters in their previous lives, I am just about to begin Jack’s story of who he was before. Gonzalez is a great idea – I truly appreciate you mentioning that. I hope you have a great day!

I just finished reading book three. You HAVE to continue on the story. You can’t leave us all hanging wonderin what happened to the kids and Gonzalez. Also what happened to Lynn’s family? What about those peopel kidnapping others off the street? And the ‘fort’ built at the school? Can you seariously think of leaving us hanging? Please continue on with the story. Can’t put them down. Thanks for being a great writer.
Hello sir,
Keep rolling into the future. Your creativity with the apocolyptic scene is awesome and I really want to know what happens next. Keep writing, and I will keep buying either way.
Thanks for your time and have a nice New Year.

I believe to always look forward and don’t look back. You only need the runway in front of you. Besides – never did like flashbacks in movies. But having said that, you have made me a believer on this series and I would still buy whichever direction you took.
It would be a good time to have the companion book come out. If it were me I would maybe make it a free eBook on kindle and so on. This would draw in more buyers to the series. At least that is the theory.
John,
Just finished book three last night. In my humble opinion the way you left the ending you almost have to continue the story. The addition of a hostile human element so close to the sanctuary opens up a whole new avenue for the story to head down. I would like to see the story continue at least to the point of the sanctuary becoming totally self sufficient. Maybe even so far as Jack rescuing some more specialized people and coming up with a way to produce biodiesel, or any number of other interesting ideas. I would love to see at least one huge all out battle with the undead or a rogue human element. Just my two cents. As always I will read whatever comes next.
Have a great new year.
